Textured Ear Warmer Headband - Free Crochet Pattern
This headband is really easy to make and works up quickly- it's stretchy, soft, warm, and the size is easily customizable! Links to supplies I used are below, pattern is written out below that, and a video tutorial at the bottom explains the pattern in more detail with the pattern on the screen while I show you how to do it. SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Worsted Weight Yarn
Crochet Hook size 4.5mm
Scissors and Needle for finishing
ABBREVIATIONS:
DC= Double Crochet
FHDC= Foundation Double Crochet (shown in video below)
FPDC= Front Post Double Crochet (shown in video below)
HDC= Half Double Crochet
RND= Round
SL ST= Slip Stitch
YO= Yarn Over
NOTES: Stitch count for every round will be the same as the number of stitches in RND 1.
WRITTEN PATTERN:
RND 1: Begin with 75 FHDC (should comfortably wrap around head. Use more or fewer stitches, if needed). Join with Sl ST in top of 1st FHDC.
RND 2: CH 1. HDC in same stitch and each stitch around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st HDC.
RND 3: CH 2. DC in same stitch and each stitch around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC.
RND 4: CH 2. DC in same stitch. FPDC in next stitch. Repeat [DC, FPDC] all the way around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC.
RND 5: CH 2. FPDC in same stitch. DC in next stitch. Repeat [FPDC, DC] all the way around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st FPDC.
RND 6: Repeat RND 4.
RND 7: Repeat RND 5.
RND 8: Repeat RND 4.
RND 9: Repeat RND 5.
RND 10: CH 1. HDC in same stitch and each stitch around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st HDC.
RND 11: Repeat RND 10.
Finish off, weave in ends.
Weave in beginning end, sewing closed the small gap between first and last FHDCs.
