WRITTEN PATTERN:
Begin with a Magic Circle. CH 2.
RND 1: DC 10 in center of Magic Circle. Pull beginning yarn tail to close the circle. Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC.
RND 2: CH 2. DC 2 in same stitch and each stitch around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC. (count= 20)
RND 3: CH 2. DC in same stitch. DC 2 in next stitch. Repeat [DC 1, DC 2] around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC. (count=30)
RND 4: CH 2. DC in same stitch and next stitch. DC 2 in next stitch. Repeat [DC, DC, DC 2] around. Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC. (count=40)
At this point you can measure to make sure your hat is the right size. With hat folded in half, measure the curved edged from end to end. Double this number to get the size of the completed beanie. Mine measure 9.5” so finished beanie will be about 19”.
RND 5: CH 2. DC in each stitch around (40 DC). Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC.
RND 6: Repeat RND 5.
RND 7: CH 2. DC in each stitch around, switching to second color on last DC. Join with SL ST in top of 1st DC.
RND 8: CH 1. HDC in each stitch around (40 HDC). Join with SL ST in top of 1st HDC.
RND 9: Repeat RND 8. Finish off and weave in ends.
